Flameskills’ inexpensive retro-fit automatic fire protection system ‘FlexiTec’ trace tube is now available as an easy to install DIY kit direct from Flameskill. Kit cars or classics most owners understand there can be a real danger of fire. Many take precautions by carrying a manually operated powder fire extinguisher. While these units work well in the hands of an experienced operator often the fire has grown too large to extinguish by the time the driver has managed to stop the vehicle or has become aware of the fire under the bonnet or in a wiring loom. ‘FlexiTec’ trace tube automatic fire suppression system has been developed specifically for the harsh under bonnet environments. Installation is made easy by simply attaching under the bonnet [with clips supplied] the flexible 4 meter 6mm diameter tube, which is connected to a pressurised fire extinguisher located in the bulkhead or cockpit. Wiring looms running the length of vehicles can also be protected in the same way by running the tube along side the potential risk area.The system requires no electrical power to operate and once fitted provides 24/7 protection. In spite of working in conditions which could cause other fire systems to fail,Flameskill FlexiTec trace tube system unique design enables it to endure repeated shocks and vibration. By routing, the polymer composite detection tube through the compartments which need to be protected, Flexifire trace tube will be right at the source of the fire. In the event of a fire the Flexifire trace tube system will release its extinguishing agent automatically, resulting in suppression many times faster than could be achieved using manually operated units.Every second saved results in less damage and ultimately can save lives.
